Teachers and Professional Development

How can The Producers’ Project be implemented in your school? How can you use documentary filmmaking and web publishing skills to enhance academic interest and performance?

TPP provides a variety of Professional Development programs that help educators:

  • gain a program overview from TPP staff, documentary and web/technical experts, and former students
  • learn basic documentary filmmaking skills, HTML and web publishing skills
  • find out how to use these skills to enhance your classroom and after-school activities
  • produce a brief documentary
  • craft a curriculum for use in their classrooms

The Producers’ Project Professional Development programs range from a full-fledged 26-hour Professional Development Series, where teachers and administrators work together to create a two-to-five minute documentary film and companion web site, to one-hour or one-day overview sessions that introduce educators to the philosophy of TPP programs and provided limited hands-on training. TPP staff and consulting documentary and web production experts provide all the training required for the Professional Development programs.
